The site of presented media school is located at METU campus in North Cyprus which is one of the most well-known universities in Cyprus, It is designed as a new faculty to include Media studies such as Cinema and Media arts, Interaction and digital media, Media advertising, Media management, Media science and Media technologies and cultural interactive departments. The main concept of this project is to design the department as an open central courtyard. Each side of courtyard is shifted to the side in order to provide a linear body in good harmony with the slope of the site as well as other parts of the campus to provide a welcoming gathering place for outdoor activities. The layout of the buildings allow maximum usage of the north and south lights for classrooms. The two main buildings are joined by a north-south structure that serves as the main entrance, besides the circulation area which is used as the student’s exhibition. All exterior parts are green that create some eye catching views and also serve as the secondary connector of different parts of the projects.

The grand theory of this project is to design the presented department as an open central courtyard. In general the effort has been made to keep the landscape as natural as possible by only making minor changes to the pavements and circulation areas. The reason behind this, is to present the building as original part of the natural landscape of the site.
